The very first time I got on the city train in Bangkok, I heard some strange, loud noise right at the Siam Square. I got off the train to see what was going on – there were crowds of people on the street level right below the platform. It seemed like they were cheering for a sport star to show up. Later I learned that it was the prime minister whom they were telling not to show up in the country ever again.
